The Northern Highlands and the Western Isles Sights

Laidhay Croft Museum

Updated 10/11/2013

Fodor's Review

The Laidhay Croft Museum, just north of Dunbeath, feels more like a private home than a museum. It was built in the 18th century, comprises a longhouse and barn—animals and people lived under the same long roof—and is furnished as it would have been during its working life.
