The main port of Harris, Tarbert has some good shops and a few worthwhile sights. Traigh Luskentyre, roughly 5 miles southwest of Tarbert, is a spectacular example of Harris's tidy selection of beaches—2 miles of yellow sands adjacent to Traigh Seilebost beach, with superb views northward to the hills of the Forest of Harris. The narrow Golden Road, on the west coast, follows the coast and offers some glorious views.
