Peinmore House

Off B883, 2 miles south of Portree, Portree, Highland, IV51 9LG, Scotland

A former manse (the minister's house), Peinmore House has views north over Portree Bay, and, on a clear day, all the way to the Old Man of Storr; to the south you can spy the moody Cuillins. Two wings built onto the original building wrap around a lush courtyard. The impeccably decorated guest rooms have spacious beds and comfortable sofas. The public "long room" has an open fire and a 30-foot-long oak sprung floor. A two-night-minimum stay is required in high season.
