Car Travel
You'll find easy access to the area from the central belt of Scotland via the motorway network. The M9 runs within sight of the walls of Stirling Castle, and Perth can be reached via the M90 over the Forth Bridge. The A9 runs from Stirling to Perth, and onwards to Pitlochry; it is a good road but a little too fast for its own good (so take care). Two signed touring routes are useful: the Perthshire Tourist Route, and the Deeside Tourist Route, with a spectacular journey via Blairgowrie and Glenshee to Deeside and Aberdeen. Local tourist information centers can supply maps of these routes.
