Roman Camp Review

Turn off the main street of Callander, and within a hundred yards you will find this pink-washed 17th-century hunting lodge surrounded by ornate gardens. The drawing room and exquisite library recall the hotel's origins, and the rooms are furnished with the past in mind; comfortable and elegant, they have large and very modern bathrooms. The River Teith flows vigorously past the house, and guests enjoy fishing rights; for those with less vigorous activities in mind, there is a lovely walled garden and a riverside arbor. The restaurant has a prix-fixe menu.
