Puma Stirling Highland Hotel
Spittal St., Stirling, Stirling, FK8 1DU, Scotland
This hotel occupies what was once the town's high school, and several of the rooms preserve that history (the headmaster's study, for example). Other features of the original 1854 building that remain include the working observatory on the roof, but the extensions are more modern. Furnishings are old-fashioned, with solid wood, tartan, florals, and low-key, neutral color schemes. The Scholars Restaurant serves outstanding seafood, wild game, and Aberdeen Angus beef.
