Teeing Off in the Trossachs
There is a wealth of beautiful golf courses within the Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park. The National Park Golf Pass (£50 for three days, £80 for five days) allows play at Callander, St. Fillans, Aberfoyle, Killin, and Buchanan Castle (£10 supplement).
Aberfoyle Golf Club. This hilly course is set against the backdrop of Queen Elizabeth Forest Park. One of the area's many James Braid–designed parkland courses, it dates back to 1890. Braeval, Aberfoyle, FK8 3UY. 01877/382493. www.aberfoylegolf.co.uk. Green fee: weekdays £20, weekends £25. 18 holes, 5218 yds, par 66.
Buchanan Castle Golf Club. Surrounded by mature trees, the setting here is quiet and beautiful. Established in 1936, this parkland course sits less than 2 miles from the lovely village of Drymen.
