Air

Loganair flies to Sumburgh in Shetland and to Kirkwall in Orkney from Edinburgh, Glasgow, Aberdeen, Inverness, and Manchester. Tickets are very expensive. Loganair also flies to the outer islands of Eday, North Ronaldsay, Sanday, Stronsay, Westray, and Papa Westray. The flight between Westray and Papa Westray, which takes two minutes, is claimed to be the world's shortest scheduled passenger flight. Airtask flies to Fair Isle, Foula, the Outer Skerries, and Papa Stour from Lerwick.
