Glenmoriston Town House

Fodor's Review:

If you are looking for excellent fishing, this stylish hotel has exclusive rights to a stretch of the River Nairn. Many of the nicely appointed rooms have wonderful river views. Chef Gordon Ramsey helped transform the restaurant, Abstract, into one of the best in the region. Its French-influenced cuisine, which includes dishes such as roasted scallops on a pea puree and sea bream with an oyster-and-citrus tartar, has garnered numerous awards. The bar is arguably the most sophisticated-looking place in town to sample a malt or two—indeed there are nearly 200 to choose from and a decent cocktail list to boot.
