Bike

Increasingly bike-friendly, Glasgow has networks of off-road cycle paths. The city has a public bike-rental scheme run by nextbike; ranks of blue cycles at over 30 stations around the city are available for rent. You provide a credit card number and a £10 deposit on the smartphone app, over the phone, or on the on-bike computer, and give the cycle number. You'll be given the number for the combination lock and off you go. It's a great way to see the city, and you can return the bike at any station. Bikes cost £1 per 30 minutes up to 5 hours or £10 for 5–24 hours. The Glasgow Cycle Map available at information centers provides comprehensive route information, or see www.glasgow.gov.uk/cycling. Companies like Glasgow Bike Tours also offer tours of the city on bike.
