You can purchase a £12 Mackintosh Trail Ticket at major sites, visitor centers, or online from the Mackintosh Society. Boat Tours

Cruises are available on Loch Lomond and to the islands in the Firth of Clyde; contact the Greater Glasgow and Clyde Valley Tourist Board for details. Contact the Waverley paddle steamer from June through August, and Clyde Marine Cruises from May through September.

Bus Tours

City Sightseeing bus tours leave daily from the west side of George Square. The Greater Glasgow and Clyde Valley Tourist Board can give further information and arrange reservations. Details of longer tours northward to the Highlands and islands can be obtained from the tourist board or Strathclyde Passenger Transport Travel Centre.

Classic Coaches operates restored coaches from the 1950s, '60s, and '70s on tours to the north and west and to the islands. The following Glasgow companies run regular bus tours around the region: Scotguide Tours, Southern Coaches, and Weirs Tourlink.

Private Guides

Little's Chauffeur Drive arranges personally tailored car-and-driver tours, both locally and throughout Scotland. The Scottish Tourist Guides Association also provides a private-guide service. Taxi firms offer city tours. If you allow the driver to follow a set route, the cost is £16 per hour for up to five people. If you wish the driver to follow your own route, the charge will be £16 an hour or the reading on the meter, whichever is greater.
