La Parmigiana

La Parmigiana Review

The refreshing elegance of the surroundings is mirrored by the consistently exquisite fare at this longtime favorite. The Giovanazzis pride themselves on using the freshest ingredients—this means you may be able to enjoy simply prepared sea bass or veal one day, guinea fowl or scallops the next. Expertise in the kitchen is reflected in the well-balanced wine list and the impeccable attentiveness of the black-jacketed waiters in this small restaurant. The pretheater menu is £16.10 for two courses and £18.25 for three.

My first experience there was fantastic and romantic. I went there on a date with my fiancé who's a local Glaswegian. We made reservations, which I highly recommend. They had 2 dinner services, 6 pm and an 8 pm the night I went. By chance, we were the only diners at the service we went to which amplified the experience. I had the Scottish salmon with balsamic vinaigrette sauce and asparagus that was cooked very well. My fiancé ordered an Angus steak which we both agreed tasted fantastic. It too came with asparagus. Everything tasted delicious. As for service, the waiters were always available, but as we were the only people there, their presence was a bit stifling. The atmosphere, overall, was pleasant, but I wish there was dimmer lighting. It would've been more romantic and intimate.
