It's thoroughly unpretentious, but this cottage-style restaurant with plain painted walls and stick-back chairs has earned a well-deserved reputation for top-quality cuisine that is imaginative without trying to be too trendy. The chef's light touch means the flavors are simple, with the shellfish and vegetables especially fresh-tasting. This longtime favorite is tucked away in an alley off the main street. It's a good idea to reserve ahead, particularly for lunch.
