This low-key guesthouse combines the original features of a Victorian home with stylish contemporary furnishings. Rooms are fresh and modern, with an occasional carefully chosen antique. The friendly owners, Robin and Colin, extend a warm welcome to gay and straight travelers, and they offer a thoroughly efficient concierge service with a twist—lots of personal opinions and recommendations thrown in. Their listing of gay-friendly venues locates bars, cafés, and even saunas.

We so enjoyed our stay with Robin and Jack (and Tracy the housekeeper and Lola the charming little dog). The room was lovely and quiet overlooking the garden and breakfast was extensive with some unique choices other than the standard Scottish breakfast. The potato waffles were yummy. Location was very good, the bus stopping almost at the door making driving in Edinburgh unnecessary. Would recommend!
