Each room at this small, centrally located hotel in a converted 1923 bank honors a famous Scotsman and is individually decorated with books, telescopes, and even parts of a steam engine. The massive bathrooms have enough space for antique dressing tables, and many rooms overlook the Royal Mile. This hotel is more of an experience than simply a place to rest your head, but keep in mind that there's no elevator (the building is listed) and that the hotel's entrance is through the popular Logie Baird's Bar.
