Edinburgh and the Lothians Travel Guide

Tram Travel

Absent since 1956, trams return to the streets of Edinburgh in mid-2014. After much delay, disruption, and controversy a 14-km (8.5-mile) stretch of track is being completed from Edinburgh Airport in the west to York Place in the east. Useful stops for travelers will include Haymarket, Princes Street, and St Andrew Square (near Waverley Station). Tickets are £1.50 for a single journey and £3.50 for a day ticket, which includes buses as well. The airport service will be a little more expensive than the Airlink bus (£4.50 one-way).
