Petit Paris. Even in typical Scottish weather it's possible to get a taste of warmer climes at this little bistro on the cobbled Grassmarket, cheerfully decorated with checked tablecloths, copper pots, and bunches of garlic. The staff is predominantly French, and the emphasis is on casual dining, local produce, and home cooking. Try the traditional French blood sausage and slow-baked rabbit with Dijon-mustard sauce. The £12.90 lunch/pretheater meal is a bargain.
