Fodor's Review

This Parisian-style brasserie combines handsome surroundings with first-class cuisine from London brothers Chris and Jeff Galvin. Dapper waiters glide around the cavernous dining area with a central bar and blue banquette seating. The menu stars such classic French dishes as steak tartare, duck confit, and pork cassoulet alongside Scots staples like Loch Creran oysters, smoked salmon, and haggis. On Sunday, expect hearty, traditional options like slow roast beef brisket with trimmings for £15. Desserts include the melt-in-the-mouth meringue oeuf a la neige (eggs in snow). The wine list is extensive, and the staff knowledgable. A decent children's menu makes this a popular spot for families.
