Edinburgh and the Lothians Travel Guide

Leith

Just north of the city is Edinburgh's port, a place brimming with seafaring history and undergoing a slow revival after years of postwar neglect. It may not be as pristine as much of modern-day Edinburgh, but there are plenty of cobbled streets, dockside buildings, and bobbing boats to capture your imagination. town), you'll find plenty of shops, pubs, and restaurants. Leith’s major attraction is the former royal yacht Britannia, moored outside the huge Ocean Terminal shopping mall. Reach Leith by walking down Leith Street and Leith Walk, from the east end of Princes Street (20 to 30 minutes), or take Lothian Bus 22 (Britannia Ocean Drive, Leith).
