Fodor's Review

A stretch of the A86, quite narrow in some places, hugs the western shore of Loch Laggan. It has superb views of the mountainous heartlands to the north, and, over the silvery spine of hills known as the Grey Corries, culminates with views of Ben Nevis to the south. In summertime the reserve is a nesting ground for peregrine falcon and golden eagle. Halfway along the loch is the Creag Meagaidh Nature Reserve, a sublime picnic spot and a good base for walks into the restored woodland below the spectacular ice-carved crags of Coire Ardair. There are basic facilities like parking lots and restrooms, but no visitor center.
