Facing Inverness Castle, Riva has views over the River Ness from its window seats. The dining room has subtly lighted deep-red walls lined with black-and-white photographs of Italian cityscapes. Tasty Italian dishes include pasta carbonara (with eggs, cream, and bacon), as well as more unusual concoctions like ravioli alla granchio (crab-and-tiger prawn ravioli on arugula). The service can be inconsistent.
