Glenmoriston Town House Review

Great food and excellent fishing distinguish this stylish hotel with exclusive rights to a stretch of the River Nairn. Most of the guest rooms are decorated in unfussy and calming hues, a good choice because they're generally on the small side. The restaurant, Abstract, wins plaudits as one of the best in the region. The French-influenced cuisine, including dishes such as roasted scallops on a pea puree and sea bream with an oyster-and-citrus tartar, has garnered numerous awards. The bar may be the most sophisticated-looking place in town to sample a malt or two—indeed, there are nearly 200 to choose from and a decent cocktail list to boot.
