Fodor's Review

One relic of the Isle of Gigha's aristocratic legacy is the Achamore House Garden, which produces lush shrubberies with spectacular azalea displays in late spring. Its variety is explained by the island's warm microclimate. For a nimble day trip, take the 20-minute ferry to Gigha from Tayinloan and walk right over to the gardens. The gardens are managed by the Gigha Community Trust; the house itself is privately owned.
