This grand hotel from the Victorian era looks down on Tobermory from its wonderful location overlooking the Sound of Mull; it suffered a period of neglect, but is now being refurbished and restored to its former elegance. Glorious views from its huge windows and its large high-ceiling rooms make it an attractive place to stay. Bedrooms are comfortable and roomy; the inland-view rooms at the back of the hotel are smaller, the larger and more expensive ones have sea views.
The hotel has a lovely terrace and a large conservatory where evening meals are served. The kitchen serves a varied, if slightly conservative, menu.
