Pierhouse Hotel Review

The twin round towers of the old pier mark the entrance to this hotel and restaurant, appealingly situated on the water's edge beside the Port Appin jetty; rooms are quite small, but clean and comfortable. It's a good base for exploring the region, and it's also a nice place to simply relax and watch the changing moods of the loch. The public bar is pleasantly animated, filled with walkers and water sports enthusiasts en route to or from Lismore. The pricey seafood restaurant serves the freshest seafood; try its signature Pierhouse platter of lobster (caught at the pier's edge), scallops, mussels, and langoustine (£25). You can choose to include dinner in the price.
