Manor House Hotel Review

On the coast near Oban, this 1780 stone house—once the home of the duke of Argyll—has wonderful sea views. The public areas are furnished with antiques, and the bedrooms are filled with lovely reproductions. The restaurant serves a five-course prix-fixe dinner (£39) of Scottish and French dishes—including local seafood and game in season—complemented by a carefully selected wine list. The house is within walking distance of the center of the city and the bus, train, and ferry terminals.
