Tiree Review
A fertile, low-lying island with its own microclimate, Tiree is windswept, but has more hours of sunshine per year than any other part of the British Isles. Long, rolling Atlantic swells attract surfers, and summer visitors can raise the population to the nearly 4,500 it supported in the 1830s. Among Tiree's several archaeological sites are a large boulder near Vaul covered with more than 50 Bronze Age cup marks, and an excavated broch (stone tower) at Dun Mor Vaul.
