Train Travel
You can reach Aberdeen directly from Edinburgh (2½ hours), Glasgow (3 hours), and Inverness (2½ hours). Get a ScotRail timetable for full details. There are also London-Aberdeen routes that go through Edinburgh and the east-coast main line connecting Aberdeen to all corners of the United Kingdom. Sadly, there is no longer a train line running from Aberdeen through Royal Deeside.
