Fodor's Expert Review Bauhaus Hotel
52–60 Langstane Pl., Aberdeen, Aberdeen City, AB11 6EN, Scotland
Editor's Note: This location is no longer in operation.
This 1960s-era office-turned-hotel's clean, modern lines pay homage to the Bauhaus architectural movement, but there's nothing sterile about this smart property, where comfort has not been sacrificed to style. Rooms vary in size and layout, but all have good looks, accentuated by nicely proportioned furnishings and chic fittings. The bathrooms are well appointed. The lively, buzzing restaurant serves international dishes.
PROS
- great design
- comfortable rooms
- tasty eatery
CONS
- beware the furniture's sharp corners
- fake art on the walls—in a city with a great art school
- nightlife noise on weekends
