Marcliffe Hotel and Spa Review

Set on 11 wooded acres, this spacious, elegant country-house hotel combines old and new to impressive effect. Some of the individually decorated rooms have reproduction antique furnishings, whereas others are more modern. Pampering touches are plentiful, such as the chocolates left on your pillow during the turndown service. The restaurant serves expertly prepared local lobster and crab and top-quality Aberdeen Angus beef, and you can choose from more than 400 wines. This faux château has hosted such dignitaries as Prince Charles, former prime minister Tony Blair, and the Sultan of Brunei.
