St. Petersburg air carrier Pulkovo, Russia's second-largest airline after Aeroflot, offers direct flights to more than 20 countries out of Pulkovo II. Aeroflot and its tough competitor Transaero fly from St. Petersburg only to Moscow, where the passengers have to get a connecting flight to other destinations.

Other international airlines with offices in St. Petersburg include Air France, Austrian, Alitalia, SN Brussels Airlines, Air Malta, Air Baltic, Korean Air Lines, Armenian Airlines, British Airways, CSA (Czech Airlines), Delta, El Al, Finnair, KLM, LOT, Lufthansa, Malev, and SAS. Note that there are no direct flights from the United States to St. Petersburg. Korean Air and Air Baltic don't have offices in town and sell tickets via tour operators, including Infinity Travel and Sindbad travel.
