Although this is not the luxury hotel it once was, if you can land a waterfront room, the St. Petersburg is the place to stay for ultimate White Nights vistas. If you can't get a room with magnificent vistas of the Neva and the waterfront architecture, you'll likely have a depressing city view, which costs slightly less than the rooms with the view. The Finnish-decorated interior is faded and the furnishings are a bit worn, but the rooms and public areas are clean. The Congress Hall makes the hotel popular with international conference planners. The Finland Station and metro are within walking distance, but the route is unpleasant and takes you along a busy highway. Swedish breakfast is included.

I had a quickly business trip to Saint-Petersburg, so I couldn't have time to choose the hotel. I decided, that the hotel with the same name as a city name, should be the right one. All in all my expectations were positive. My business trip turned out to be succesful, the same as a rest. Hotel has non-smoking rooms, and for me it's a huge point. I settled in a short time, room has a panoramic city view, have to mention that windows could be open up. City noise confused, but somehow, i didn't notice it when windows were closed. Excellent verandah, complaisant waiters. Of course, there were some defects, but i might set them aside. And of course next time, I'll plan to have a rest at this hotel, not to work. City is really beautiful and the hotel is the right for it.
