If you're looking for homey accommodations, consider this small, quiet hotel, a cozy blue cottage with a tiled roof. Most of the rooms overlook the Pryazhka River and the small, pleasant yard with maple and chestnut trees, flowers, and benches. Though the halls are narrow, the pleasant pastel colors, wood paneling, and smiling staff are welcoming. Avoid rooms on the third floor, which have thin walls. Though it's only a 10-minute walk to the Mariinsky, Matisov Domik is far from a metro stop; the hotel, however, provides shuttles to the airport and railway stations. Rooms have showers instead of tubs, and there's no air-conditioning (a fan is available for a small fee). Continental breakfast is included.
