Herzen Museum (Muzey Gertsena)

Herzen Museum (Muzey Gertsena) Review

Here you can learn not only about the writer, philosopher, and revolutionary Alexander Herzen (1812-70), but also about life in the 1840s in Russia and the Decembrists who rebelled against tsarist rule in 1825. Herzen himself may be most famous for his novel Who Is to Blame? as well as his short stories Magpie the Thief and Dr. Krupov. Explanations in English are available. You'll have to ring the bell to enter the museum, and you'll be given slippers to wear inside.
