Petrovich is a place that revels in nostalgia. Objets d'art from the Soviet era are scattered around the huge cellar bar-club-restaurant; the menu of filling Russian food is full of insider jokes about life under the old regime; beer is served in the old mugs that were the only thing, apart from jam jars, that beer was once served in; and Soviet pop plays in the background. Try the pelmeni, sturgeon kebabs, or Georgian dishes such as sulguni (breaded fried cheese). This place often claims to be a private club, but if you call beforehand you can usually get in.
