Pushkin Memorial Museum (Muzey Pushkina)

Pushkin Memorial Museum (Muzey Pushkina) Review

Aleksandr Pushkin (1799-1837) never lived here and probably never even visited this fine yellow mansion built in the 19th century by architect Afanasy Grigoriev, but don't let that put you off. A redesign in 1999 that coincided with the 200th anniversary of Pushkin's birth made this one of the smartest museums in town and an increasingly popular place for conferences and business bashes. Upon first entering the museum you'll step into a beautiful atrium that floods the building with light. Beyond the atrium are several rooms showcasing Pushkin's sketches, letters, and personal effects.
