Fodor's Expert Review Yolki Palki

$ Kitai Gorod Russian

Editor's Note: This location is no longer in operation.

With hanging chickens and waitresses dressed in national costume, the decor at one of the first chain restaurants in Russia is more kitsch than traditional. But you might find yourself saying "yolki palki," a light curse akin to "gee whiz," when you see the assortment here. There's a good selection of blini as well as other delicious pancakes called olady, which are thicker and often made with potatoes, and at the salad bar you can also try numerous types of marinated and pickled vegetables. You'll find outlets throughout Moscow.
