Positioned north of the N125 and A22 roads, Loulé is more inland than other coastal towns. Castle walls and three stone towers provide visual evidence of its history, while an Arabesque indoor market—complete with pink turrets—offers a true taste of Algarvian culture. In recent years, Loulé’s laid-back vibe has also attracted a growing number of artists and artisans, whose works are displayed in shops and galleries.
