Sintra Sights

There are various ways to get to Palácio da Pena, Castelo dos Mouros, and Convento dos Capuchos. You can take a local bus or a horse-drawn carriage, sign up for a tour, or make the long but pleasant walk up from the center of Sintra (about 1½ hours). It's possible to drive, but there's limited parking once you get there. However you choose to arrive, note that the walk back down to Sintra is delightful:

the route is through shaded woods with viewpoints under the cork trees.
