Grande Hotel do Porto Review

If you enjoy shopping, you can't do better than the stately Grande Hotel do Porto, as it sits on the city's best shopping street. The hotel has just the right mix of old-fashioned charm and new-fangled amenities. Public areas such as the lounge and library, with its daily newspapers in English, and the Windsor Bar are full of turn-of-the-last-century details; streamlined guest rooms are loaded with modern amenities. Some are rather small and rates can vary; it's worth checking for bargains. The D. Pedro II restaurant, which serves Portuguese cuisine, is a modern, stylish space. There's a charming gourmet food shop off the lobby.
