Casa da Calçada Review

Next to the old bridge and overlooking the river, this carefully restored former nobleman's manor is one of Portugal's finest hotels. Its ground-floor lounges are comfortable, and its guest rooms are elegant and individually furnished. The Largo do Paço restaurant serves inventive Portuguese cuisine and was recently awarded a Michelin star. The hotel's gardens contain a swimming pool and a tennis court; a stay here also gets you a 20% discount at a golf course a 10-minute drive away.
