Quinta do Vallado Review

One of the oldest quintas in the region, Quinta do Vallado is on the right bank of Rio Corgo near Rio Douro and has stunning views of terraced hillsides along both river gorges. This wine estate has been in the Ferreira family since 1818. It has 158 acres and vines more than 70 years old. Make reservations for a visit, which includes a wine tasting. This property holds a museum and a wine store. It is one of many quintas that also have rooms for guests, in either a traditional 18th-century manor, or a sleek, modern 21st-century wing. Doubles cost about €140 a night.
