The picturesque village of Camacha, about 10 km (6 miles) northeast of Funchal, is famous for its traditional wicker-basket production and colorful folkoric traditions. Cafe Relógio, a large cooperative on the main square, has sold every imaginable type of basket since 1896. There's also an inn, restaurant, and pub on-site.
