Fodor's Review

Housed in the minimalist Belém Cultural Center, the Museu Berardo is a showcase for one of Europe's most important private collections of modern art. Works from this treasure trove—which ranges from Picasso through Warhol to Portugal's own Paula Rego—are regularly rotated through the galleries, and there are also excellent visiting exhibitions. The complex has a restaurant and several cafés. Its roof gardens feature an expansive terrace where cooling jets of water spray out from the ground; it's a fun place for kids to race around while their parents soak up the wonderful views of the Mosteiro dos Jerónimos and the Rio Tejo.
