The luxury starts the minute you step into the marble reception area and the lounge-bar, whose terrace overlooks the park. Public areas are filled with tapestries, fine paintings, and antique reproductions. Large, airy guest rooms have elegant furnishings and bathrooms as well as private terraces. Rooms in the back with park views are the best choice; on a clear day you can see Castelo de São Jorge and the Rio Tejo from the upper floors. A superb buffet breakfast—as well as lunch and dinner—is served at the Varanda restaurant, which also has a terrace.
