The icy display of the day's catch at the entrance and the small aquarium clue you in to what's served here. In the center of the restaurant a staffer slices well-aged ham or weighs the fish that customers have chosen. You might start with a tomato-and-mozzarella salad or with oysters on the half shell. Sea bass or bream cooked in garlic, tomato, and onion and cod with turnip leaves are recommended main courses. Bifinhas com molho de madeira (small steaks in Madeira wine) is a meaty alternative.

We absolutely enjoyed our clams (spanish style) and the salt encrusted sea bream was fabulous (the fish is cooked in a salt crust then removed). Veggies always seem to get a bit over cooked in Portugal - but what the heck - order some wonderful Portuguese wine and enjoy the experience of fish freshly caught and prepared by a culture that has been expert at cooking it for a long time! Another recommendation is the fresh fruit cocktail. Service was attentive and professional. Sitting outside was rather nice.
