Terreiro do Paço Review
On the site of the old Royal Palace, this restaurant has a discreet entrance leading to a subtly lit vaulted space. The lower level, which includes tables on the esplanade in the summer, has a contemporary design. The upper level is more traditional, with earthy tones reflecting the colours of the restored stone and brick ceiling. Under the direction of chef Vitor Sobral, the kitchen creates incredibly creative starters like oysters with purée of baked eggplant and such main dishes as caramelized duck breast in a ginger cream sauce. The set tasting menus offer a wonderful combination of textures and flavors.
