Fodor's Review:

The intricate workmanship that went into the creation of the puppets on display at this museum is remarkable, and it's not just kids' stuff, either: during the Salazar regime, puppet shows were used to mock the pretensions and corruption of the politicians. The collection encompasses both Portuguese and foreign puppets. Those from Santo Aleixo in the Alentejo region (just south of Lisbon) are particularly notable, measuring just over 6 inches high.
