Parque Liberdade

Fodor's Review:

The steep walk to São Pedro de Sintra along the main road from Sintra isn't much fun, although you can cut out much of the distance by climbing up through the gardens of the Parque Liberdade, which starts just east of Sintra. Otherwise, local buses leave from outside the Sintra train station (weekdays every 30-40 minutes, reduced service on weekends), and you can catch one as it passes the tourist office; or take a taxi.

  • Open: June-Sept., daily 9-8; Oct.-May, daily 9-6
