Museu do Brinquedo

Fodor's Review:

The former fire station headquarters has been transformed into the Museu do Brinquedo (Toy Museum). Based on the collection of João Arbués Moreira, who began hoarding his toys when he was 14, the museum occupies more than four floors. Pick out your favorites from the thousands of toy planes, trains, and automobiles; dolls' furniture; rare lead soldiers; puppets; and a zillion-and-one other Christmas gifts and birthday presents—including some given to royal children. Of course, there's a playroom for kids with Legos—and computers. There's a café here, too.

  • Cost: EUR 4
  • Open: Tues.-Sun. 10-6
